❄️ WEATHER UPDATE: Closures & Cancellations ❄️

To keep our community and staff safe during the upcoming winter storm, the City of Lincolnton Parks & Recreation Department will be closing all facilities and parks beginning tonight.

🕒 CLOSURE TIMELINE

  • Starting: Friday, Jan 30 at 9:00 PM.

  • Duration: All parks and facilities remain closed through Monday, Feb 2.

  • Reopening: We plan to reopen on Tuesday, Feb 3 at 10:00 AM, pending safety inspections.

🚫 CANCELLATIONS & CLOSED LOCATIONS

  • Youth Sports: All volleyball practices and games scheduled for Saturday (1/31), Sunday (2/1), and Monday (2/2) are CANCELLED.

  • Lentz Recreation Center: All indoor gym activities (walking, pickleball, basketball, volleyball and racquetball) are cancelled.

  • City Parks: Betty G. Ross, Highland Drive, City Park, and First Federal Park (including all playgrounds, courts, trails, and fields) are closed.

  • Marcia H. Cloninger Rail Trail: Access points are closed. We strongly advise staying off the trail due to icy and dangerous conditions.

  • Hollybrook Cemetery: Closed for visitations and burials.

⚠️ STAY SAFE: With significant snow in the forecast, please stay home, stay warm, and avoid travel if possible.
