Subject: Christmas and New Year’s Holiday Solid Waste Collection Schedules
Date of Holidays: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday December 24 - 26, 2025
Thursday, January 1, 2026
The City of Lincolnton Public Works Department would like to notify residents of a revised solid waste and recycling collection schedule due to the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday December 24 - 26, 2025 and January 1, 2026.
All City administrative offices and departments will be closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, December 24th – 26th, and on Thursday, January 1st.
Please note the following changes to your regularly scheduled service.
Christmas Holiday Schedule. The collection schedule will be as follows:
Monday, December 22nd – Monday and Tuesday’s routes will be collected
Tuesday, December 23rd – Wednesday and Thursday’s routes will be collected
Wednesday, December 24th – No Collection
Thursday, December 25th – No Collection
New Year’s Holiday Schedule. The collection schedule will be as follows:
Monday, December 29th – Regular Schedule
Tuesday, December 30th – Regular Schedule
Wednesday, December 31st – Wednesday and Thursday’s routes will be collected
Thursday, January 1st – No Collection
Friday, January 2nd – No Recycling Collection
Important Reminders
Residents and businesses who normally have collection on the days listed should place their carts at the curb the night before their revised collection day. Please leave your cart at the curb for the full day as it will take collection crews longer than usual to run routes.
The regular collection schedule will resume on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The recycling collection for January will be on Friday, January 9th.
